Attend all sessions – attendance will be taken every session
Be on time for and ready at the start of every session
If you are sick or injured you must still report to each session and contact a trainer immediately
You may not leave campus for any reason unless accompanied by an authorized member of our camp staff
You must be in the dorm by 10:30pm or immediately following the last camp session
You must be in your own room by 11:00pm for bed check
Any lost key is to be reported to a coach immediately. The fee for a lost key is $50.00
Shower after every session and wear clean gear, if you need to do laundry find the designated camp laundry facility
You will be dismissed from camp for any of the following;
Anything associated with hazing
Having unauthorized visitors in your dorm room
Having visitors of the opposite sex in your room
Being in the room of a camper of the opposite sex
If you are out of the dorm after 11:00pm
Disrespecting other campers/camp staff, other camper’s personal items, or camp facilities
Understand that everything you do while at Virginia Tech is a direct reflection of the Virginia Tech wrestling program, your school, parents and coaches. Please and thank you go a long way while you are at Virginia Tech
What to Bring
Pillow, towels, swim trunks (open swim), shorts, t-shirts, running shoes, wrestling shoes and alarm clock.
Coin-operated laundry facilities are available on campus. VT wrestling gear will be sold in our camp store during registration, check-out and throughout the week.
You will be exposed to the process our Olympic/World team goes through in preparation for the World Championships. There will be strength, nutrition, metal, technique, film, and cardio training that will get you ready for any competition at any level. Come find out what the elite do to beat the best!
Camp will consist of technique that will work at any level. We'll cover offense, counter offense, Garland grind ride, and how to get out on bottom
Camp will consist of technique, competition, and team building workshops. Each camper will be guaranteed a minimum of 6 matches.
Camp Types Team Camps
Team Camps are designed for the High School teams who desire summertime dual meet competition as well as Technique.
We will break each hold into steps, and drill repetitively to perfection. All of our holds are taught in a series to instill chain wrestling into your athletes. Chain wrestling is the key to success at every level of the sport. This camp is designed for all wrestling at all ages and skill levels that want to develop a winning system.
Youth Camps (Ages 7 - 12)
Granby School of Wrestling Youth Camps have been carefully designed so that wrestlers have a positive experience in a closely supervised environment. Your child will leave our camp with a basic knowledge of the Granby series in the bottom, top and takedown position.
Fargo Training Camps
The Fargo Training Camp is designed to prepare wrestlers for the Cadet and Junior Freestyle/Greco-Roman National Championships in Fargo, North Dakota.
Commuter Camp Fee - means that you will not be staying over night on campus but driving back and forth for each session (only lunch is included with the Commuter Fee)
Residential (Overnight) Camp Fee - means that you will check-in on Sunday and stay on campus until Checkout on Wednesday (All meals are included)
This camp is designed for prospective W&L student/athletes. Campers will have four wrestling workouts, two strength/conditioning workouts, and tour campus and meet with various faculty and staff members at Washington and Lee University.
