The Biggest Differences Between Overnight and Extended Day Wrestling Camp

If you’re interested in attending our Nutmeg Wrestling Camp at Sacred Heart University this summer, then you’re in luck! Camp will be held on campus from July 16 – July 19, 2017.

We know everyone has a different kind of schedule, which is why there are two different offerings available, including overnight and extended day camps. The biggest difference is pretty obvious: one means you have to stay on campus overnight, and you don’t for the other.

But what are the details regarding the differences between these two camp offerings?

Overnight campers will stay with us on campus for an experience that will last 4 days and 3 nights. You’ll get to stay in the dorms, enjoy all-you-can-eat buffet meals in the dining hall and entertaining evening activities while getting over 6 hours of training each day.

Extended Day campers will also get an incredible amount of training throughout a pretty long day, but they’ll have the luxury of going home to sleep in their own bed. Lunch and dinner are included, and a normal day usually spans from 9am to 8pm.

Just to get an idea of what a typical day would look here, check out this sample schedule:

7:45am: Wake-up (overnight only)

8:30: Breakfast (overnight only)

9:15: Camp Meeting, Stretching

10:00: Individual Technique

11:30: Lunch

12:30pm: Free Time

1:30: Live Wrestling/Dual Meets

3:00: Intensive Training

4:00: Free Time

5:00: Dinner

6:00: Technique Analysis

6:30: Live Wrestling

8:00: Extended Day Campers Depart, Overnight Campers Head to Dorms

8:30: Evening Activities (overnight only)

So, as you can see, the only thing extended day wrestling campers will be missing at Nutmeg would be any evening activities.

The other difference between these two offerings would be the cost. Our overnight camps cost $525 and our extended day camps cost $395.

We know this is a significant investment in your child, which is why Nutmeg Wrestling Camp was developed by top college coaches, enabling us to offer superior technical training to those in attendance.

It’s also important to us to offer this kind of experience in a competitive, but positive atmosphere since that’s the best way for campers to learn valuable lessons.

Do you have other questions about Nutmeg Wrestling Camp that we didn’t cover here? Well, we still want to make sure nothing goes unanswered before you drop your child off to come and check in!
